DoorDash Lunch Experiment for the Win! We noticed The Taco Joint, with its eye-catching paint job and taco truck parked in the lot, while driving to our event at the convention center. Food trucks always catch my eye, since they typically have a small, limited menu, allowing them to focus on each item and execute it very well. If you like spice and want a one-hit wonder for your meal, pick "The Habanero" burrito. The chicken, cooked to perfection without being dried out, is covered with a nicely spicy habanero salsa and other fillings that pair perfectly with the flavors. For a sampling of the taco offerings, get the Taco Flight Box (I didn’t see this on their website, but it’s listed on DoorDash). It contains 4 tacos: 1 street carnitas, 1 gringo steak, 1 flip taco, and 1 red birria. Each taco was delightful, but my personal favorite was the flip taco. The beans and pickled onions, paired with some very tender al pastor, made it stand out as the winner of the box. (When I’m back in town, I’m destined to order the flip taco, or many flip tacos.) For a fun appetizer, get the birria-filled Mexican egg rolls. This was the least messy take I’ve had on birria, and the egg roll wrap really soaked up the birria broth as a dipping sauce. They reminded me of mini chimichangas, and sadly, I was too full to really enjoy them by the time I’d sampled all my family’s items and eaten my share of the tacos.

I've enjoyed my meal all four times. I have only used the drive thru, so I cannot comment on anything regarding the interior. The service has always been quick, even on my last trip when the line was almost to the street. I wasn't a fan of the horchata. It had an egg taste that I've never had with a horchata.

I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla. It was absolutely delicious. Service was quick, and friendly. The prices are similar to that of similar restaurants and eateries. I enjoyed it so much, that I told my partner we will be adding it to our list of date restaurants. Will definitely be returning.

I am extremely disappointed that we don’t live in this area. We just ate some of THE BEST tacos de birria we have ever had. The CRUNCH, the CHEESE, the CONSUME I wish I had 2 stomachs so I could have eaten more. 4 each is well worth it. I suggest asking for extra cheese if you like equal meat to cheese ratio. My only complaint or preference is that the music wasn’t family friendly. Thank you for dinner you guys are amazing!

Awesome! Just like I was back in Texas or even across the border into Mexico. I had two Old School Tacos, one in chicken and the other pork, and as you can see in the attached pictures, they looked very appetizing!! Everything tasted fresh, flavor vile, right temperature and most importantly, absolutely delicious. When I arrived there st a little after 1 pm, there were at least eight or nine vehicles in front of me. And as I paid my bill, there were 4 behind me - very busy but seemed very capable of handling crowds. I did NOT go into the building, so I cannot attest to the atmosphere, etc. However, everything I could see or the people I interacted with were personable, well groomed, knowledgeable, and all the rest. Again, BOTH Tacos were excellent!!

I have nothing but good things to say. I loved the birria tacos, I haven’t forgot about them. Best I’ve ever had around Illinois no lie, and they were so flavorful. Bring a bib. The street corn was to die for too, so much flavor and creamy. It had fresh lime and cilantro and a lot of corn for such a good price. The churros were so creative too in a cup filled with whipped cream and like 4 or 5 churros. I can’t wait to visit here again.
